In the Shreyas Folk Museum the folk art of many of the traditional and rural communities has been studied. These communities belong to different villages of Gujarat and in this museum you can get a glimpse of their exquisite artwork. The communities whose culture and folk art are being researched in the Shreyas Folk Museum, Ahmedabad are kathi, rabari, charan, ahir, brahmins, banias, meghvals, bharvad, kanbi, koli, mer, Bhansali, rajputs, khojas, vohras, memons and the Miyanas.
From costumes to handmade articles these communities exhibit their works in the Shreyas Folk Museum. One of the major attractions of the Museum is a complete skeleton of an elephant which has a height of 3.19m. There is an extensive collection of old coins, weapons, puppets, toys, costumes, masks, musical fountains and animal caparisons which recall the grandeur of the bygone era and exudes a vintage charm.
The museum remains open on all days of the week from 10:30am-05:30pm and it is closed on Mondays and public holidays.
